In 2019, Steve opened Grey Beard Aerospace & Defense Associates a Huntsville, AL/ Redstone Arsenal, AL based Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) consulting firm. We are a management consulting firm that brings technical expertise together to support aerospace and defense companies so that they can focus on opportunity generation, business operations, and program management excellence. We also aim to help them in setting the conditions for organizational success.
Prior to starting Grey Beard Aerospace & Defense Associates, Steve was the vice president at AAR CORP./AAR Airlift Group, Inc., chief operating officer and program director for an Abu Dhabi, UAE-based management consulting company, Knowledge Point Consulting. Steve has over 39 years of aerospace and defense experience in positions of increasing responsibilities with AAR CORP; he was responsible for rotorcraft parts trading, aircraft sales and leasing, asset management, and rotorcraft business development. Steve also worked for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (UTC), where he was responsible for UH-60A/L, UH-60M BLACK HAWK engineering services and fleet management. He also worked with Goodrich Aerospace Fuel & Utility Systems Division, where he oversaw vehicle health management systems development and was responsible for the introduction of HUMS in the US Army helicopter fleets.
Steve is a distinguished US Army veteran with over 23 years of active military service. During his 23 years, Steve served in the Airborne Infantry (82nd Airborne Division) and as an operational rotary-wing attack helicopter pilot in command, Special Mission Fixed-Wing (SEMA) aviator, maintenance test pilot, maintenance officer, and instructor pilot. Steve is a retired US Army Aviation Master Aviator and is qualified in 17 different helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft.
Mr. Peckham earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aviation management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
